Premiered at the Fall 2024 Tufts/NEC Dual-Degree Recital in Tufts Distler Performance hall on November 2, 2024.
PROGRAM NOTES: Tonight, I am premiering two fixed media works. The first, mistakes, is taken from a larger 40-minute ambient electronica project. Occurring about halfway through the project, it serves as almost an interlude, resetting the textural palette through washy, expanding synths. The second, Parallels, was conceived through overlaid voice memos juxtaposing a minimal, resonant theme against chaotic, free improvisation. In tonight’s program, these two tracks are seamlessly bound in a continuous landscape. Although completed in different years, I feel that they both explore the cyclical patterns and introspections that arise from life repeating itself.
